Alice Irene Peterson

Obituary

Alice Irene Peterson, age 81, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away surrounded by her family at 4:22 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.  She was born March 4, 1936, in Jasper County, Missouri, the daughter of the late Clarence and Mable (Griffith) Brewer.

Alice worked for the Juvenile Shoe Factory in Aurora, Schreiber Foods and Tyson’s in Monett, Missouri and was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Aurora.

On February 15, 1953, she married Ed Peterson, in Miami, Oklahoma.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ed; two daughters, Joyce Isabell and her husband, Larry and Nancy Sawyer and her husband, Chris; two sons, Floyd Peterson and John Peterson, all of  Aurora; one sister, Doris Aubury of Yuma, Arizona; one brother, Harold Brewer of California; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Her parents, Clarence and Mable, and nine brothers and sisters, preceded her in death.

A funeral service under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at the Southside Baptist Church with burial to follow at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.  Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, in the funeral home chapel.

Memorial donations may be made to the Southside Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
