Shirley Ann Johnson
Shirley Ann Johnson, age 77, of Verona, Missouri, passed away at 9:20 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2017, at the Aurora Nursing Center. She was born June 28, 1940, in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Charles “Red” and Dorothy (Walker) Whaley.
Shirley was a hair stylist, a truck driver, worked at Kraft Foods, delivered papers and was an avid church goer.
On November 17, 1964, she married John Adam Johnson in Miami, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2006.
She is survived by her three sons, Tracy Johnson of Verona, and his children, Halie, Ashley and Tyler and their mother Sheryl, John Rice of Fair Grove, and his children, Justin and Phillip, and Eddie Rice and his wife, Sharon, of Willard, and their children, Alyse and Aaron; two daughters, Cindy Taylor and her husband, Philip, of the state of California and Teresa Johnson of Springfield; one sister, Linda Lloyd and her husband, Wesley, of Potosi, Missouri and five great-grandchildren.
Her parents, Red and Dorothy, husband, John and brother, Billy Joe Whaley preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora. Burial will follow at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora. Visitation will be held from 5:00–7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, in the funeral home chapel.
